Sacha Gibson
Psychologist

Sacha Gibson, Psychologist

I am here to help.

Seeking psychological therapy is a good first step in addressing the issues impacting your mental health and wellbeing.

Everybody's story is unique. My therapy is tailored to fit your individual circumstances at a pace that suits you.

I make the assumption that people are coming through my door because there is  something in their life that is not working. I use
psychological practices shown in research to have the best treatment outcomes to help improve and enhance your life and circumstances.

My consulting rooms are currently located in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland areas of Maleny and Landsborough.

Below is a brief description of some of the more common issues I deal with in my practice. I also work with survivors of childhood trauma, self esteem issues, body dysmorphia, sex and sexuality, LGBTIQ, life transitions, perinatal and bi polar disorder.

Relationship and Family

Life is complex and sometimes we will experience breakdowns in our family and relationships. Psychologists know social support is critical to human mental health. Psychological treatment to deal with and manage relationship and family dynamics can be fruitful in helping us stayed connected in a loving and nurturing way with those who matter most.

Helping Adolescents

Our better understanding of mental health and increased promotion  of community awareness about these conditions has also highlighted the impact on our children and youth. As a psychologist who has worked for many years with young people, I understand the critical importance of providing the best quality care to ensure their ongoing resilience and  psychological wellbeing..

Drugs and Alcohol

Drugs and alcohol have huge implications for the ongoing mental health and general wellbeing of those who are caught in the trap of addiction as well as broader implications for the individuals, families and communities trying to help them. Psychological support for those with drug and alcohol issues can make a significant difference for people wanting to get well and to stay well.

Depression and Anxiety

Depression and anxiety are the two most commonly occurring mental health disorders in our community. Psychological treatment has been shown to be highly effective in treating these and other mental health issues.

Grief and Loss

We will all have to deal with the loss of a loved one, the ending of a relationship or changes in our life overall. Talking with a therapist will help process these experiences and make the transition to new circumstances easier to cope with.
